Acetylene (C2H2)

A colorless, extremely flammable gas with a detectable odor. In its free state, may violently decompose if pressure exceeds 15 psig.

STORED DISSOLVED IN ACETONE.

Toxicity: Simple asphyxiant, irritant, and anesthetic
Fire Potential: Extremely flammable Flammable Limits: 2.5-81%
Compatible Materials: Steel and wrought iron are recommended materials of construction. Copper, silver, or mercury may cause the formation of explosive acetylides.
Molecular Weight: 26.04 Specific Volume at 70oF and 1 atm: 14.77 ft3/lb DOT
